French Courses



French courses are only available to people with Qatar nationality.

 

The Language Institute offers general French courses which consist of lessons aimed at developing basic language skills and creating a suitable environment for practising what learners have acquired in the classroom.

General Objectives:

The French department's general objective is to develop the students' basic listening, speaking, reading and writing skills to a level that enables them do the following:

1- Have a general understanding of a variety of simple grammatical structures.

2- Easily express needs in daily situations to an acceptable level of language correctness.

3- Achieve a fair level of precision in writing in communicative situations.

4- Understand general everyday spoken and written texts.

Course Books:

The Institute uses for teaching French a recent Method for teaching French as a Foreign Language called: “INITIAL”.

The method series includes:

  • Initial 1: for the levels 1, 2 and 3
  • Initial 2: for the levels 4, 5 and 6
  • Exercise Books
  • Multi-media materials for labaratory and personal use

Schedules

Students have two lessons a week, with each lesson lasting three and a half hours. Classes start at 4.00 and finish at 7.30.

1st class: Sunday and Tuesday.
2nd class: Monday and Wednesday.
